- Tues 3 Jan. Gardening Club. Alan Martin - 'Weird and Wonderful Plants'. Competition - A stem of a flowering shrub. NB.Gardening Club now meets at Cedar Room, St Pauls church, Oak Road, Pilands Wood. Start at 7.30pm.
- Tues 10 Jan. GAF. 3rd Maritime lecture 'Pirates of the Solent'. 8pm.
- Fri 20 Jan. Village Hall. Annual General Meeting 7.30pm.
- Sat 28 Jan. GAF. Hilary James & Simon Mayor (folk, allsorts) 7.30pm.
- Sat 4 Feb. GAF. Concert with the City of Southampton Orchestra 11 am at City Hall, Southampton. Draws on local families and those from further afield.
- Sat 4 Feb. Village Hall. The Big Bursfest. All day event.
- Tues 7 Feb. Gardening Club*. Belinda Hayes - 'Preparing for Spring'. Competition - One flowering stem.
- Tues 7 Feb. GAF. 4th Maritime Lecture. 'Nelson'. 8pm.
- Fri 10 Feb. Village Hall. Peter Page Memorial Lecture 7.30pm by Dr Amy Dale, Marine Officer, Hampshire & IOW wildlife Trust.
- Sat 11 Feb. Village Hall. Western Style Barn Dance with Bursledon Village Band.
- Sun 19 Feb. GAF. Talk on history of Moody's Boatyard by David Moody, 4pm .
- Tues 6 Mar. Gardening Club*. Ray Broughton - 'Fruit and Vegetables in Containers'. Competition - 5 floating Hellebore flowers.
- Sat 3 Mar. GAF. Jazz & Blues with Soul given by The Barcodes.
- Tues 6 Mar. GAF. 5th Maritime Lecture 'Titanic' 8pm.
- Fri 23 Mar. GAF. Quiz Night 7.30pm.
- Tues 3 Apr. Gardening Club*. SPRING SHOW at St Pauls church, Pilands wood. Doors open 7pm, judging 8pm.
- Tues 3 Apr. GAF. 6th Maritime Lecture 'Lost Village of Itchen Ferry'. 8pm.
- Thurs 5 Apr. Gardening club. Outing to Highclere (leaving at 9.30am) and Hardy's Cottage Garden Plants, return approx 6pm. £22.
- Tues 10 Apr. 7.30pm with the CSO 'Commemoration of Embarkation of Titanic' champagne reception and concert - This is at the QE2 Terminal Dock Gate 4 Southampton, and will draw on quite a few Bursledon people.
- Tues 1 May. Gardening Club*. Chris Evans - 'The Light and Dark of Bournmouth'. Competition - 3 stems of Polyanthus.
- Tues 5 June. Gardening Club*. PLANT SALE. Competition - A flowering pot plant .
- Wed 13 June. Village Hall. Diamond Jubilee Tea Party. Afternoon event. .
- Tues 3 July. Gardening Club*. Marcus Dancer - 'Climbing Plants for Sun or Shade'. Competition - One rose bloom.
- Tues 7 Aug. Gardening Club*. Brian Madders - 'Chrysanthemums for All Seasons'. Competition - 5 sweet Peas.
- Sat 11 Aug. Gardening club. ANNUAL SHOW AT VILLAGE HALL, LONG LANE.
- Tues 4 Sept. Gardening Club*. Tim Woodland - 'Container Planting of Bulbs in Autumn'. Competition - One Dahlia bloom.
- Tues 2 Oct. Gardening Club*. Andy McIndoe - 'The winter Garden Competition'. Competition - A photograph, max 6"x4", titled "Insect(s)".
- Tues 6 Nov. Gardening Club*. Annual General Meeting. Competition - Charm Chrysanthemum and/or African Violet.
- Tues 4 Dec. Gardening Club Party* - American Supper. Quiz, slides, etc. Competition - A Christmas table arrangement.

Bursledon & District Gardening Club
meets on the first Tuesday of the month. The annual subscription is
£10, casual visitors charge is £2. Meetings start at 7.30pm, doors
open at 7pm.
*Meetings in 2012 are at Cedar Room, St
Pauls church, Oak Rd, Pilands Wood, except where notified above.
Bursledon Bridge Club meets weekly at the Village Hall, Long Lane on Thursdays from 1pm to 4pm. Improvers are welcome, but regret that novices cannot be accommodated. Contact: 02380405996
